The video tape system used in many countries, including America is called NTSC, whereas in most of Europe ( including the UK ) the video tape system is call PAL We can transfer your original American tape to a "copy" which will be UK compatible instead American. Generally this process is called NTSC to PAL I've got a tape from America that plays on my video machine but not on my friends, what's wrong? You almost certainly have a video machine which has the a feature called "NTSC PLAYBACK", whereas your friend's machine hasn't ! NTSC PLAYBACK is essentially a "quick fix" that allows you to view your American tapes on your Television, but since it is not a real NTSC signal coming out of your video machine you cant make a proper copy from it How much does a regular American tape cost to transfer into the UK system ? For the first tape we charge £19 for upto 1 hour and £23 for upto 2 hours. What about tapes from other countries ? We can transfer to or from ANY country (including from UK to USA, which is called PAL TO NTSC).
